The marine in back row on left end is one of my older brothers. His name is Arthur Earl LeClerc, I talked to him about the picture. He said the little guy in the middle of the back row was his best friend and foxhole buddy through three campaigns. His name was Harry Lowe from Berne OR. Harry and Earl were both hit with the same shell on Okinawa. Came home and lived normal lives. Harry passed away about 13 years ago. Earl is the only one still living. I cant remember the names of the guy at top right or the one lower left but Earl knows they were killed on Okinawa. the one on lower right is James Young .Who came home ok.But is also deceased now. The picture was taken on Guadalcanal in a rest camp Earl was not in combat here. He was in the marine raiders on Bougainville and after the Raiders were disbanded he was on Guam and , He told me the tent in the background of the picture was Earls. Earl lives in Fl. in the winter and should be home in a few weeks but he is not in good health. But does fairly well for 78 years old.
