The Architect It was recommended that Kevin Munroe of Wakefield, RI, be contacted for guidance and advice. During the initial visit, wherein he was told about the history of the 6th Marine Division and its accomplishments, his interest was aroused. He explained that his firm had done cemetery work and that their policy, in such cases, was to offer preliminary work on a Pro Bono basis. If the project didn't fly there would be no fee. If it materialized the fee would take into consideration our nonprofit status. The standard architect's fee is 18%. This information was circulated to the Committee with the proviso that unless someone could come up with a better arrangement, we would engage the services of Munroe & Associates. There were no responses so we went ahead. Kevin Munroe, AIA, has been established since 1988, employing a small staff of architects. The firm has a wide range of residential and commercial clients and has done much historical preservation work. It has received several awards and has been featured In 'Builders Magazine,' 'Custom Homes' magazine, and the 'New York Times'. Kevin Is very creative and is a good listener. His objective is to be sure the product he produces gives complete customer satisfaction. He has been very successful in this regard. During a recent visit he said the more they get into this project the more enthusiastic they become.
